Fred Mahar, P.E.Partner
Fred received an undergraduate degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering in 2006. He went on to work for a nation-wide engineering firm where he specialized in infrastructure projects, designing bridges, retaining walls, and other roadway structures for public entities. From there, Fred attended law school while continuing to work in the design industry part-time preparing structural designs for telecommunications sites on buildings. His significant design experience allowed Fred to obtain his NJ professional engineer (PE) license while in law school in 2012.
Prior to graduation from law school, Fred spent his final year of school working as an intern/law clerk under John Becker, Esq., which was his introduction to representing design professionals such as engineers, architects, and land surveyors in the legal realm. Upon graduating, Fred became an associate at the firm representing design professionals in all legal matters, including defense of claims and lawsuits, contract negotiations, and general legal advice for navigating the design professional practice. Fred is now a partner with Thompson Becker and continues to use his extensive real-world experience in the design professional industry to bring a uniquely informed perspective to the legal representation of his clients.
